Walls of Azu

Every song has a story. I'm blessed I get to share so many. Karibu.

    Hi, I'm Azu.

I'm a Tanzanian singer, songwriter, producer and builder of the sound, the visuals and the world around my gift.

Music found me early. The studio my mother made room for became the one place that made sense. I wrote songs in my head, sketched characters and imagined whole worlds long before I knew how to build them.

With support from my family, I was privileged to go to the United States to study music, and it taught me that a gift isn't the same as being ready. So I kept learning, one skill at a time: production, visuals and everything in between.

There were seasons when letting go would have been easier. I've watched years of work disappear overnight and had to start again from nothing. Every time, faith brought me back. At the edge of quitting, I chose music and made a permanent reminder with one word on my skin: JIAMINI, believe in yourself. I came home to Tanzania to build with time and intention, and the rest is history.
